Creating a Patch!
Creating a patch is a fun way to add embroidery to items that cannot be easily embroidered.  In this class you will learn to make a patch with a sealed edge.  We will use specialty stabilizers to create a patch with body that can easily be ironed on to the project of your choice!

This project is compatible with any machine with an embroidery capability of 5.5" x 5.5"

Bring the following supplies to class:
Fabrics:
  • 1 piece of background fabric large enough to hoop (recommended: pique, duck, or heavier fabric)
  • 1 piece of fabric for applique 5-1/4" x 5-1/4"
Stabilizers:
  • 1 piece of OESD Fiber Form Craft Interfacing or equivalent large enough to hoop
  • 2 pieces of Wash Away stabilizer large enough to hoop
  • 1 piece of fusible patch creator such as Floriani Press N Bond or OESE Fuse and Seal 6-1/2" x 6-1/2"
Other Supplies Needed:
  • Threads of your choice
  • Needles: we recommend Embroidery Needles 75/11
  • Bobbin wound with same thread as top thread for outside of patch
  • Bobbin thread for remaining design: 60wt polyester thread such as Superior Bottom Line, Finishing Touch, etc.
Embroidery Machine:
  • Embroidery Hoop Large Enough for 5-1/2" x 5-1/2" design
  • Embroidery Module
  • Power Cord
  • Embroidery Foot
  • Embroidery Needle recommended above
  • 2 GB or 4 GB USB Stick to load project design

Must be able to operate your embroidery machine.
Requirements:
Make sure you have all your supplies prior to the start of class. You can register for any class in the store. If you are paying by credit card, you can register online, or phone (760-739-8222 or 858-225-2739). The registration fee for the class must be received to reserve your space. Most classes have a minimum number of students to run. If we do not meet the minimum number of students for the class three (3) days prior to the class, we will notify you that the class is cancelled. If your class is not held for any reason, you may transfer to another class or receive a refund. You may cancel for a full refund up to four days prior to the class. No refunds can be given within three days prior to a class.
