NOVEMBER PROJECT:  WIRED RIBBON

Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to create the perfect wired ribbon for that Special Package. 

Wired Ribbon made with a serge, can create just what you want.  In this class you will learn how to take fabric and roll hem a wire inside.  You can make a single layer of fabric if the fabric is 2 sided.  If not, you can make a 2-layer ribbon creating a finish on both sides.

This is a fun project I am sure you will enjoy learning the technique.  In class we will be mainly working on creating the wired ribbon.  If you want to finish the bag in the catch-up class, I am also giving you the supplies for it. I hope you will be able to come and join the fun!

Wired Ribbon Supplies Needed:

1.       Decide how long and wide you want your ribbon to be.
2.       I made my ribbon 2-inches (4 ¼” wide folded in half) and the width of fabric.
3.       #26 Jewelry wire.  I did my rolled hem in red, so I choose to use red wire. po
4.       (3) Threads. 
5.       Needle Thread (lightly shows)
6.       Upper Looper Thread (the only thread that will really show)
7.        Lower Looper Thread (lightly shows)
8.       1” strips of water-soluble Stabilizer
9.       Elastic Foot,  If you don’t have one, bring whatever feet you have.

Gift Bag Supplies Needed:

1.       Main Fabric = Cut main fabric (1) 21 wide x 17 ½” long, also (1) 21” wide x 6” long
2.       Lining Fabric = Cut lining fabric 21-Inches wide x 14” long
3.       Accent Fabric = 3” wide x width of fabric
4.       2 colors of 12 wt. Decorative Thread, 4 serger Threads
5.       Normal Serger Supplies, Needles, clips,
